YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Police Friday made three arrests and seized three guns in two separate incidents in different parts of town.

Booked into the Mahoning County jail on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a third-degree felony; improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; and two fifth-degree felony counts of possession of drugs was Kenneth Williams, 30.

Reports said Williams was arrested after he was spotted about 11:25 p.m. Friday behind the driver’s seat of an SUV parked illegally at DuPont and Hammaker streets on the North Side.

Police asked Williams if he had a gun in the car and he told them he had his mother’s gun, reports said. Reports said when asked if he is allowed to have a gun, Williams said “no.”

Reports said Williams also told police when asked he had a crack cocaine in his pocket.

Officers searched the car and found a loaded 9mm handgun, along with heroin and methamphetamine.

Williams is not allowed to have a gun because of a drug conviction in 2013 from Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Earlier about 8:05 p.m., police arrested Ngozi Johnson, 24, on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and improper handling of a firearm along with Pierre Munoz, 28, who also received an additional charge of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony.

Reports said police tried to pull over a car Munoz was driving for excessive window tint as it was pulling out of a gas station parking lot on High Street on the South Side. The car failed to stop and instead drove at speeds up to 85 miles per hour before it crashed into a median on Interstate 680 south and stopped.

Reports said police searched the car and found a loaded semiautomatic handgun as well as several plastic bags of drugs and $9,539. Additionally, police found another handgun on the highway they believe was thrown from the car by Johnson, reports said.

Johnson is presently under indictment for drug charges, which is why he is not allowed to have a gun, reports said. Reports did not say why Munoz is not allowed to have a gun.

Both men also face several drug charges.
