After another exciting week of the high school track and field season, it's time to look back on the best performances.

Read about the athletes who stood out last week and let us know who you think should be the North Jersey Performer of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this page.

Voting closes at 6 p.m. Thursday.

    Gina Certo, Holy Angels

The junior sprinter had the fastest split of all North Jersey girls, running 56.04, fifth among over 700 New Jersey sprinters at the Penn Relays. Holy Angels lost a close race to IHA, running a season's best 4:00.70.

    Julia Costa, Ramsey

The junior ran a great leg in the 4-x-100 relay at Penn, leading the Rams to a school record 49.56 clocking, the best by any North Jersey team. She then led off the 4-x-400 team in 58.73 to give the Rams the lead they never relinquished in a plaque winning 4:02.17 efffort.

    Julia Mattioli, Ramapo

The sophomore ran a strong third leg as Ramapo ran a season's best 50.43 in the 4-x-100 at the Penn Relays and then later in the day had the Green Raiders' fastest split of 59.09 as Ramapo won its heat in the fastest time among all North Jersey teams in 4:00.01.

    Piper Portacio, IHA

The junior continued her smooth transition from the now closed Immaculate Conception from Lodi, running strong leadoff legs on both the Blue Eagles' season best 4-x-100 (49.80) and 4-x-400 (4:00.44) teams. IHA won the latter heat with Portacio's 59.57 the fastest leg, it's first ever heat win at Penn.

    Julia Tozduman, Lyndhurst

The senior holds nearly all the Golden Bears' jump and sprint school records and has had a brilliant career. She won the long jump, triple jump, and 100 to help secure a 21 point victory over Becton in a key dual meet this week.
