ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Work is underway on a series of projects across Monroe County and surrounding areas to improve road conditions.

The projects are part of a $46.9 million investment in the infrastructure in the Finger Lakes region and will rehabilitate bridges, road surfaces, intersections, and other enhancements.

Victor granted eminent domain rights to take over Lord & Taylor in Eastview Mall

“These investments in the Finger Lakes will increase mobility, reduce congestion, create more resilient roads and bridges, and make it easier for motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians to get around one of the most beautiful regions of our state,” said Governor Hochul.

Some of the projects include rehabilitating the pavement on I-390 between Exits 10 and 8 in Livingston County. Other projects include:

    • $6 million towards replacing bridge decks, installing new girders, and repairing the bridges carrying I-390 over Commerce Drive in North Dansville.
    • $4.8 million to continue rehabilitating the pavement on Rt. 31 from the Monroe County-Wayne County line to Macedon.
    • $3.6 million towards upgrading the signals, ramps, and an additional lame on Rt. 386 and I-390 in Chili.
    • $2.6 million to improve the intersection of Latta Road and North Greece Road in Greece.
    • $1.8 million to resurface the roadway, add a center turning lane, and install a drainage system along Rt. 31 between Rt. 19 and Transit Way in the Town of Sweden.
    • $1.4 million to reduce Rt. 5&20 from Lake Street in Geneva to the Ontario County-Seneca County line from two lanes to one lane eastbound and two westbound. This is to give more space for pedestrians and cyclists.

Residents who drive along these roads should expect to see lane or road closures in the near future for these projects.
