    Ocean

    Connor Tongring

Tongring hit a two-run homer for the game's first runs in the bottom of the third in the Spatans' 4-3 win over Red Bank

    Bodhi Lettieri

Lettieri homered in the bottom of the first two batters after Tongring's homer in the Spartans' 4-3 win over Red Bank.

    Ben Robinson

Robinson struck out the side on 15 pitches in the top of the seventh to earn the save in the Spartans' 4-3 win over Red Bank. The save was the eighth of Robinson's career and enabled him to pass 2008 Ocean graduate Jamie Rosencrantz for the school career saves record.

    Ranney

    Ryan Costello

Costello belted his ninth and 10th home runs of the season, had three RBI and pitched three innings in relief to pick up the win as the Panthers defeated Matawan 7-6, to knock the Huskies from the unbeaten ranks and deny Matawan a chance to clinch the outright Shore Conference Class B North championship.

An LSU recruit, Costello had a two-run homer to right center in the bottom of the first that tied the game 2-2 and a solo shot to right in the third that tied the game 3-3.

He is six home runs away from breaking the Shore Conference single-season home run record of 15 set by Joe Stanzione of Middletown South in 2022. Marc Fink, a 1994 Jackson Memorial graduate, is second on the single-season home run list with 14 in 1994.

Seven of Costello's homers have come in Ranney's cozy ball park, which has short distances to all of the outfields.

    Curtis Chropuvka

Chropuvka's solo homer to left leading off the bottom of the sixth gave the Panthers a four-run lead and accounted for the winning run in the Panthers' 7-6 win over Matawan.

In a game that saw the teams combined for six homers - five of which were solo, Matawan rallied for three in the top of the seventh, highlighted by consecutive solo homers by Sal Cassano and Sean Hart and had the bases-loaded with two out when Nate Fuller, Ranney's fifth pitcher, got a force out at third to end the game.

Andrew Gendi also had a solo homer in the third for Matawan.

Matawan can clinch the outright Class B North championship Wednesday when it hosts Ranney.

    Jackson Liberty
