INDEPENDENCE TWP. (WWJ) -- The search for a missing Oakland County woman has ended tragically as her body was discovered in a park, two day after her car was found with the keys still in the ignition.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office had asked the public for help in finding Lacie Nicole Santia, who was reported missing Saturday morning by her family, who said they were concerned about her emotional condition.

The 38-year-old Independence Township woman was believed to be in or near Waterford Oaks County Park, according to the sheriff’s office.

Her car was found in the parking lot there later Saturday after she was reported missing. Officials said the keys were still inside.

Monday afternoon, the OCSO said Santia was found dead at around 2 p.m. in Waterford Oaks County Park.

Officials have not said how it's believed she died.

“There appears to be no foul play but in any event we are checking everything to be sure,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said, in a statement. “We ask that you keep the family in your prayers.”

The Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit, search and rescue team, K-9 unit, aviation unit as well as the Waterford Township police, U.S. Border Patrol, and Metroparks Police Search and Rescue Team all participated in the search over the weekend.

Anyone with information about this case can call the Sheriff’s Office at 248-858-4950.
