Soccer star Ashlyn Harris shared support for actress Sophia Bush on social media hours after her girlfriend came out as queer.
Bush, 41, confirmed her relationship with Harris, 38, for the first time on Thursday. They are said to have begun dating last year, months after she filed for divorce from entrepreneur Grant Hughes after 13 months of marriage. Harris also divorced in 2023 from long-time partner Ali Krieger , filing the month after Bush.
The former USWNT teammates Harris and Krieger began dating in 2010 before engaging and getting married nine years later. They also parent two adopted children, their daughter, Sloane, and their son, Ocean. Bush and Harris first met in 2019 and became good friends, sharing friend groups, before the actress asked Harris out on a date.

The "One Tree Hill" star shared these details in an essay for Glamour in which she came out as queer. Harris shared a post of the magazine cover, which carried the quote, "I finally feel like I can breathe," on her Instagram story alongside the caption: "Proud of you babe."
Bush spoke at length about her girlfriend in the essay. "Groups of women in my life started opening up about issues they were going through in their own homes," she recalls from last summer.
"... including Ashlyn, whom I’d first met in 2019 and who was in the process of figuring out her own split from her wife [Krieger].

"She’d been such a kind ear for those of us who opened up about our problems ... and soon it became clear that she needed our ears too."
Bush continued: "I didn’t expect to find love in this support system. I don’t know how else to say it other than: I didn’t see it until I saw it."
"And I think it’s very easy not to see something that’s been in front of your face for a long time when you’d never looked at it as an option and you had never been looked at as an option. What I saw was a friend with her big, happy life. And now I know she thought the same thing about me."
"It really took other people in our safe support bubble pointing out to me how we’d finish each other’s sentences or be deeply affected by the same things." On the subject of Harris, she added: "I am absolutely in awe of her relentless integrity."
