Gegard Mousasi Criticizes PFL Politics Preventing Him From Fighting: 'UFC Did That With Arlovski...'

Former Bellator Middleweight Champion Gegard Mousasi recently shed some light on his issues with the PFL.
Last year, the PFL acquired Bellator MMA, leading to an inter-promotional card earlier this year. Despite now having Bellator under its umbrella, the PFL has not enveloped the promotion, and it continues to function as its own entity when it comes to events.
One fighter who is not happy with the merger is none other than "Dream Catcher," who has not fought in almost a year. Mousasi's last fight saw him come undone via unanimous decision against Fabian Edwards at Bellator 296. The former Bellator 185lbs kingpin is currently on a frustrating two-fight skid, with Johnny Eblen taking the belt from him in his prior fight at Bellator 282.
"They're On Radio Silence" - Gegard Mousasi
During a recent appearance on the JAXXON PODCAST , Mousasi compared his experiences being contracted to the UFC, Bellator, and the PFL.
"Bellator, they paid well, but I wasn't fighting enough," Mousasi said. "UFC, I would fight a lot, regularly, but they wouldn't pay much. Now PFL, I don't even fight. Every promotion has his own thing. You know with Pride, you have different- there's always something with promotion you have to deal with, promoters and stuff."
He revealed that he'd even offered to move up to light heavyweight to get a fight recently, but to no avail. Mousasi likened it to the UFC infamously holding up Andrei Arlovski during his original run with the promotion.
"Yeah, last time, I said 'Hey, I'll go 205, just give me a fight,'" Mousasi said. "They're on radio silence. It's like- they did- UFC did that with Arlovski also, they didn't give him a fight for a year. I don't know, it's politics."
