Freshman Bales honorable mention all-state

Crook County High School freshman Anna Bales was recently named to the Class 4A All-State basketball team.

Bales, a guard, led the Cowgirls in scoring, steals and assists, while helping to lead Crook County to the first round of the state playoffs. She received honorable mention recognition on the all-state team. Bales averaged 12.7 points per game, 5.3 assists, and 9.83 steals per game. She was also second in the team in rebounding at 5.7 boards per game.

Annie Campos of the state champion Henley Hornets was named player of the year, while Randy Denson, also of Henley, was named coach of the year.

Joining Campos on the all state first team were Shelby Bruney of Astoria, Maddie Dustin from Cascade, Dianara Pena of Klamath Falls, and Rylan Davis of Madras.
