"Hey there, it's Jonathan the 15th," the voiceover says as we see the sweet dog running around. I turned one last week. Come with me to my first birthday photo shoot."

After Jonathan got his "zoomies out" and said hello to everyone, he was ready to jump into his photoshoot.

"I took my place and was ready to dazzle everyone with my good looks," Jonathan said in the voiceover.

At first, Jonathan doesn't want to wear the birthday hat, which he jokes about during the voice-over. "I refused it at first, but lucky for them, and I guess unlucky for me, I can be bribed with treats," he shared.

In the comments, people were happy to praise Jonathan the 15th for his birthday.

"Aww, Jonathan the 15th, you grew a lot," one person wrote

"Happy birthday," another shared. "Such a good boy."

"The goodest boy ever," wrote someone else.

"You're the best boi," another viewer added.

Facts About Jonathan XV, the UConn Mascot

Jonathan arrived at UConn's campus in June 2023, starting as a mascot-in-training. He's the 15th canine mascot, hence his name, and spends time learning from Jonathan XIV.

"Jonathan XV is a purebred Siberian Husky who was part of a six-puppy litter born in Ontario, Canada, on April 19. Handlers picked him up on June 17—National Mascot Day—and brought him back to Connecticut," UConn said at the time.

Jonathan XIV joined UConn in 2014 as a puppy and is now ten years old and known as the "mascot emeritus."

And thanks to Jonathan XIV's help in showing Jonathan XV the ropes, he seems to have taken to his role like a champ.

“He’s truly a natural when it comes to games,” Laura Centanni, a co-chair of APO’s Husky Committee, said. “The first time I took him to a game, it was like I could see him absorbing the energy of the crowd, and he immediately stood up straighter and had this intense light in his eyes."

“I’ve never seen him more focused than when he’s courtside at a basketball game – except maybe when he’s waiting for his dinner,” she adds.
