MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Marlboro County man is accused of bringing a gun inside Dollar General and threatening to kill a customer, the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office said.

Donavan Reginald Pooler, 31, of Wallace, was charged with armed robbery, grand larceny, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, attempted murder, pointing and presenting a firearm, and first-degree assault and battery.

Pooler was taken to the Marlboro County Detention Center where he was denied bond on Thursday, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies were dispatched to a home on Hickory Grove Road Wednesday at about 8:35 p.m. in reference to a stolen vehicle. It was reported that Pooler had stolen the vehicle from the home and gone to the Dollar General where he allegedly stole items and pointed his gun and threatened to kill a customer, deputies said.

Deputies talked to the victim at Dollar General store before getting another call from the home on Hickory Grove Road, where Pooler had reportedly returned the stolen vehicle and was being confronted by his family members.

During the incident, deputies say Pooler pointed the handgun at multiple people and threatened to shoot them. Before being arrested, he also allegedly fired multiple gunshots into a vehicle where a man was standing.
