‘We are very honored’: Moore Capito talks about endorsement from Gov. Jim Justice

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — Outgoing Governor Jim Justice endorsed former Delegate Moore Capito in the crowded Republican primary .

That endorsement came last week, and it’s no secret the Justice and Capito families have been allies over the years. But Moore Capito says it’s more than that; he has a nearly eight-year record of working with the governor in the legislature, especially on economic issues.

“His endorsement was loud and clear that we need to keep this momentum going. And as he said in his endorsement, of our campaign, which we are very honored to have, we are laser-focused on ensuring that we continue the momentum in growing jobs and opportunity here in West Virginia,” said Former Del. Moore Capito, (R) Candidate for WV Governor.

Capito says one of his big accomplishments with governor justice was supporting last year’s 21% state income tax cut. All four leading republican candidates for governor favor, the complete elimination of the state income tax, perhaps within the next few years.

Candidates Chris Miller, Patrick Morrisey and Mac Warner will join Capito on this week’s edition of “ Inside West Virginia Politics .”
