    Stark County resumes siren testing

    STARK COUNTY, ND ( KXNET ) — Stark County resumed their normal testing of outdoor warning sirens on April 24 at 11 a.m.

    Testing will continue to take place every Wednesday at 11 a.m., for 30 seconds.

    The outdoor warning sirens will be activated when:

    • The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for any community within Stark County.
    • A funnel or tornado is reported within 15 miles of Stark County and the funnel or tornado is on a direct path to hit any city within Stark County.
    • Sustained winds of 70 mph or greater reported to be approaching any city within Stark County.
    • A hazardous materials spill to shelter-in-place or other life-threatening event occurs.
    • Testing and maintenance operations are underway.

    Anyone who hears outdoor warning sirens within Stark County should seek shelter immediately and tune into local media stations for additional information.

    Emergency alerts will be released by Emergency Services in the event of an imminent life-threat where action must be taken. Citizens should heed any information released via such alerts.
