Mild temperatures will persist throughout Bucks County on Wednesday, April 24, but overcast conditions will lead to the chance of showers, particularly this afternoon.

If you’re getting ready to head out for the day or just want to know what to expect, here’s a look at the forecast from the National Weather Service.

Weather in Bucks County

Even with the overcast conditions, temperatures in Bucks County should reach the upper 60s, said Amanda Lee, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

"The overcast skies could produce a few very light showers and sprinkles in the morning, and as we get into the afternoon, we are expecting to see more isolated showers develop," Lee said. "We can't completely rule out a rumble of thunder, but that will happen more southwest of Bucks County.

"So overall, Wednesday will be overcast to start, but it should clear out as we head into the late evening, as a cold front comes through."

Lee cautioned of a remote chance of strong winds if the storm system shifts.

"With the front coming through, winds could get a bit gusty this afternoon, but nothing super high," Lee said. "Wind gusts could get up to around 20-25 mph if stronger showers and thunderstorms make it further south, but the likelihood of that happening is pretty low."

The National Weather Service also provided details on Wednesday's weather in its morning weather alert on X, with a peek ahead to expected conditions for the second half of the week.

"A much milder start to the day although with clouds. A few showers possible today," read portion of the weather service's post. "Colder air moves back in tonight and lasts through Thursday night, then gradual warming for most places Friday and Saturday."

Lee said the Delaware Valley will experience a double-dight temperature drop on Thursday.

"Going into Thursday, especially during the daytime, it will definitely be noticeably cooler than it will be today, and cooler than any day this week," lee said. "Highs on Thursday will only reach the upper 50s."

Although much cooler, Thursday should be sunny with just a slight breeze, according to the National Weather Service's 7-day forecast for Bucks County.

Friday is shaping up to be mostly sunny, as temperatures creep back up to lower 60s.

"Things will start to warm up on Friday," Lee said. "That will continue into Saturday before the real warmup happens later in the weekend."
