Ashe County arrest reports

The following information was provided by the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

April 15

Lonnie C. Payne Jr., 40, of Fleetwood, was charged with not paying child support. Payne Jr. was released on April 16 under a $1,010 cash bond.

April 16

Jamie M. Eldreth, 43, of Lansing, was charged with three counts of resisting a public officer and failure to appear on charges of driving with a revoked license, providing fictitious/false information to an officer, driving with no insurance, fictitious/altered registration card/tag, canceled/revoked/suspended tag, driving with no vehicle registration, failure to maintain lane control and expired/no registration. Eldreth is currently being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $6,000 secured bond.

Morgan B. Roberts, 31, of Fleetwood, was charged with carrying a concealed gun. Roberts was released on April 16 under a $1,500 secured bond.

April 17

Vanessa K. Denny, 43, of Sparta, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Denny is currently being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $3,000 secured bond.

Michael B. Headley, 27, of Mountain City, Tennessee, was charged with making harassing phone calls. Headley was released on April 17 on a written promise to appear.

Noah K. Leeper, 28, of Jefferson, was charged with assault on a female. Leeper is currently being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.

Trenton G. Overcash, 18, of West Jefferson, was charged with larceny by removing/destroying/deactivating an anti-shoplifting component and misdemeanor larceny. Overcash was released on April 18 under a $2,500 secured bond.

Mitchel L. Roark, 50, of Creston, was charged with not paying child support. Roark was released on April 17 under a $1,170 cash bond.

April 18

Mason M. Hamilton, 27, of North Wilkesboro, was charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hamilton is currently being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $200,000 secured bond.

Everett D. Sawyer, 55, of New Castle, Delaware, was charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine and driving with a revoked license. Sawyer is currently being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $200,000 secured bond.

April 19

Layne S. Ham, 30, of Lansing, was charged with probation violation, misdemeanor probation violation out of the county, and failure to appear on charges of driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license, two counts of misdemeanor probation violation and possession of an open container of alcohol. Ham is currently being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond.

Shannon G. Pack, 32, of Claudville, Virginia, was charged with being a fugitive from another state. Pack is currently being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond.

April 20

Jessie S. Hunt, 26, of West Jefferson, was charged with selling a Schedule II controlled substance, delivering a Schedule II controlled substance, possession with the intent to manufacture/sell/deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and conspiring to sell/deliver a Schedule II controlled substance. Hunt is currently being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond.

April 21

Christopher T. Bumgarner-Mushrim, 27, of Todd, was charged with driving while impaired. Bumgarner-Mushrim is currently being held at the Ashe County Detention Center.
