CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A section of Route 153 in Clearfield County was closed all morning on Friday and we’re learning it was caused by a tractor-trailer hitting a bear.

State police said the crash happened around 4 a.m. Friday, April 19, on Route 153 (Hoovertown Road) in Huston Township. The 55-year-old driver couldn’t avoid a bear that went onto the road and hit it. This caused the truck to overturn.

Crews worked to pull the driver from the wreckage. He was then rushed to Penn Highlands DuBois with suspected serious injury, troopers said.
