Waterville Carry Out , 747 Michigan, Waterville, inspected April 2. Pita chips could not be demonstrated to have come from an approved food supplier. Grape leaves packaged in the facility had incorrect expiration dates.

Whitehouse Inn , 10835 Waterville, Whitehouse, inspected Feb. 5. A container of cooked prime rib had no date mark.

Local Thyme , 6719 Providence, Whitehouse, inspected Feb. 5. A strainer holding straws, lime wedges, and ice was improperly in the bar hand-washing sink. The potato cutter and the kitchen slicer were dirty with dried food residue. Shredded cheese sitting out by the soup warmer was too warm. Cole slaw, turkey, tomatoes, and cheese in the cookline prep-top cooler were too warm because the cooler was unplugged.

Papoo’s Coney Island , 10335 Waterville, Whitehouse, inspected Feb. 12. Quaternary ammonium sanitizer in the wipe cloth bucket tested at 0 ppm. The dessert case and the cheesecake inside it were too warm.

Copper Press Roastery , 5905 Weckerly, Whitehouse, inspected March 14. Home-produced coffee sourced using cottage-food rules lacked required labeling.

The Buzz Family Diner , 6670 Providence, Whitehouse, inspected April 2. An employee touched toast with bare hands. The ice machine’s interior was dirty with buildup.

Gary’s Catering , 50770 Pontiac Trail, Wixom, Mich., inspected March 18. A chicken/​mashed-potato bowl in hot holding was too cool. Cold sandwiches were too warm.

Kolachi Bazaar , 6831 Angola, Holland, inspected March 6. The person-in-charge could not explain correct procedures for cleaning and sanitizing. Several items blocked access to the hand-washing sink. The ice cream scoop was not sanitized.

Cabo Cantina , 1007 S. McCord, Holland, inspected March 6. Beans, rice, beef, pork, queso, and chicken were placed in the steam well without being reheated. The steam well was not holding at the proper temperature. Cooked onion and mushrooms were not discarded when required. Chemical containers lacked proper labels. Food containers were cracked.

Ralphie’s , 6609 Airport, Holland, inspected March 12. The ice machine’s interior drop plate was dirty with mineral buildup. Marinara sauce, chili, and French onion soup in three different tabletop steam wells were not hot enough.

Biggby Coffee , 6910 Airport, Holland, inspected March 19. The ice machine’s interior was dirty with buildup.

McDonald’s , 6555 Airport, Holland, inspected April 5. A garbage can blocked access to the front hand-washing sink. The dish machine did not dispense chlorine sanitizer during final rinse.

Joshua Treatment Center , 350 S. Irwin, Holland, inspected April 2. The person-in-charge failed to ensure employees sanitize equipment and utensils properly, could not demonstrate knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing, and failed to ensure employees wash their hands properly. An employee did not wash hands between touching dirty dishes and working with food. Raw bacon was stored improperly above ready-to-eat foods and raw ground beef was stored incorrectly next to ready-to-eat foods. Chlorine sanitizing solution in the dish machine was too weak. The Ice machine’s drip edge was dirty with buildup. Raw chicken was left out overnight in the three-bay sink, which did not have an air gap in its drain to prevent sewage contamination. Sloppy joe mix, hot dogs, corn, noodles, chili, salad, mushrooms, meatballs, and pizza lacked proper date marks. Consumer-grade bug spray was found in the office. A chemical bottle had no label. A container for the blender was broken.

Star Diner II , 457 W. Dussel, Maumee, inspected Jan. 23. The person-in-charge did not ensure employees wash their hands properly, did not ensure employees were properly trained in food safety, and did not ensure employees maintain safe food temperatures for hot and cold holding. An employee touched dirty dishes and then did not wash hands before handling clean dishes. Dishes coming out of the dish machine had tape on them. Pre-portioned corned beef hash and sliced ham wrapped in plastic on the make table was too warm. Containers of marinara sauce and slaw mix in the walk-in cooler had expired. Eggs and egg mix holding out of refrigeration on a time basis had no time marking.

Magic Wok , 720 Conant Street, Maumee, inspected Jan. 29. Dented cans of food were on the top shelf in the dry goods area. The ice machine’s ceiling was dirty with black buildup. The dipper well’s drain plumbing had no air gap to prevent sewage backflow.

American Legion , 204 Illinois, Maumee, inspected Jan. 30. The ice machine was dirty with black buildup.

The Pinnacle , 1772 Indian Circle, Maumee, inspected Feb. 1. Honey Dijon dressing was held past its marked expiration date.

Dana Holding , 3939 Technology, Maumee, inspected Feb. 1. The grill area hand-washing sink was used improperly to wash tomatoes.

Red Lobster , 1422 Reynolds, Maumee, inspected Feb. 5. Juice and a straw were present in the server station hand-washing sink. A carton of dairy-based drink mixer in an ice bath was too warm. Jalapeno ranch dressing, butter blend, and peppercorn sauce were too warm. Drain plumbing for the server station soda machine and ice bin lacked air gaps to prevent sewage backflow.

Meijer , 1391 Conant, Maumee, inspected Feb. 8. Quaternary ammonium sanitizer in spray bottles was too strong.

Le Petit Gourmet , 6546 Weatherfield, Maumee, inspected Feb. 8. The slicer’s cutting surfaces were dirty with buildup.

Brandywine Country Club , 6904 Salisbury, Maumee, inspected Feb. 8. The basement slicer’s surfaces were dirty with dried food residue. Cooked veggies with an 8/​22 date on them were holding in the bottom of the kitchen prep-top cooler. Small flies were present at the bar and in the kitchen.

Core Life Eatery , 1399 Conant, Maumee, inspected Feb. 1. The person-in-charge failed to ensure written procedures and plans were maintained and followed, and failed to ensure employees are properly trained in food safety, including allergy awareness. The service area hand-washing sink was used improperly as a dump sink, and it was not operable as a hand-washing sink. Dressings and other foods on the cold line were too warm. Chicken, sauces, and other items holding out on a time basis lacked time stamps.
