BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) –

Belmont County residents congregated at Bridgeport High School Wednesday afternoon to focus on their health and well-being.

It was all part of a free health fair presented by the Belmont County NAACP, Wheeling Health Right and the Belmont County Health Department.

From free health screenings to a host of more than 30 vendors, Belmont County NAACP President Jerry Moore II said there was a wealth of services to check out and emphasizes the importance of an event like this for the community.

“Oh, this is very important for the community, especially the east side of Belmont County. Not everyone has transportation to go out to the western part of the county to get services, especially regarding their health. So we wanted to be able to bring this right here on the front lines of where everybody’s at, to where people could come in, walk through the door here and have their questions answered.”

Moore says that he’s hoping to make the health fair an annual event, and expressed his gratitude to Bridgeport Schools for helping out with the occasion.
