Is Red Lobster closing? Report says restaurant chain considering bankruptcy filing

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — It seemed the name “ Red Lobster ” was all over the place Wednesday, and it wasn’t because people had a hankering for the restaurant chain’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits. (They are good.)

Bloomberg reported that the chain which has been a staple of the American restaurant scene for decades may be looking to file for bankruptcy. Among other things, the report said people who were familiar with the matter said Red Lobster was looking for restructuring advice to address leases and labor costs, prompting it to consider filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Red Lobster has several locations across Virginia and Maryland , as well as many other states. Locations in the DMV include restaurants in Alexandria, Fairfax, Woodbridge, Silver Spring, Lanham, and Suitland.
