TEXOMA ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The National Weather Service has announced that a Tornado Watch and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are in effect for several Texoma counties.
This story will be updated throughout the severe weather conditions on April 15.
UPDATE at 7:24 p.m. on April 15
The weaker of the two storm systems, heading into Benjamin and Gilliland, has died, according to Bohling.
The stronger storm, the current Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect, is making its way north; it is in Hardeman County and is heading to Jackson County in Oklahoma.
This storm is also dying down, now seeing quarter-sized hail, though it did produce some severe hail, Bohling said.
With light showers in the eastern portions of Texoma, and as the storms in Wilbarger County are no longer severe, the Tornado Watch is still in effect until 9 p.m. but has a lesser possibility of severity.
UPDATE at 6:58 p.m. on April 15:
While the Tornado Watch is still in effect until 9 p.m., there hasn’t been significant rotation detected, according to Chief Meteorologist Michael Bohling.
