WELLS COUNTY, N.D. ( KXNET ) — A man who has been missing for nearly five months has finally been found.

Police say the body of Lloyd Liken was found in rural Wells County on the afternoon of Sunday, April 14, by a farmer who was checking his fields. Both Liken’s body and his vehicle (a gold Toyota SUV) were found about 30 miles north of Steele.

Liken, who is 81, has been missing since November 16, 2023. His family, friends, and volunteers have spent the last five months looking for him after they say he failed to return home after having dinner at a friend’s house. Searchers previously told KX News they had covered over 15,000 miles around North Dakota in search of the man.

The last confirmed sighting of Liken was by a McLean County deputy — who saw Liken’s vehicle heading south on Highway 83 on the morning of November 17, 2023.  Investigators do not believe Liken was a victim of foul play.
