Construction on the Mass Pike in Hampden, Berkshire County

BLANDFORD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced that there will be daytime and overnight guardrail repair, drainage work, bridge repair, and tree trimming operations on I-90 eastbound and westbound throughout Hampden and Berkshire County beginning on Monday.

Paving work on multiple roads throughout Greenfield begins Monday

According to MassDOT, lane closures will be in place during the construction and traffic will be able to move through the work zones. The construction schedule is as follows:

Otis/Blandford

  • Guardrail repair operations will be done nightly on I-90 westbound between mile marker 21.0 and mile marker 26.0 from Monday through Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the next morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday.
  • Drainage work will be conducted on I-90 eastbound between mile markers 21.0 to 24.0 from Monday through Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the next morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19.

Blandford

  • Bridge repair work will be done nightly on I-90 eastbound and westbound at mile marker 26.4 from Monday through Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the next morning. The work is expected to conclude by 5:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19.

Russell

  • Tree trimming will be done on I-90 westbound between mile marker 33.0 to mile marker 36.0, from Tuesday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.

Becket

  • Guardrail repair operations will be done on I-90 eastbound at mile marker 17.8, on Sunday, from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. the following morning. The work is expected to be done by 4:00 a.m. on Monday.

You can expect slow traffic through this area, so leave some extra time for your morning commute this week. Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and messaging will be in place to help guide drivers through the construction.
