THP: Teen injured after running in front of vehicle in Anderson County

ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. ( WATE ) — A 17-year-old was injured after running in front of a vehicle while crossing the street in the Claxton community of Anderson County on Thursday, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol.

A preliminary report from THP says the incident happened on Edgemoor Road near Mooncrest Lane a little before 6 p.m.

The vehicle, identified as a “2024 FRHT TT”, was driving west on Edgemoor Road when the teen ran into the vehicle’s path while trying to cross the road, the report states. A Google Maps image from November 2023 does not show any crosswalks in that area.

The vehicle was able to come to a controlled stop in the roadway, however, the teen was listed as injured.

The report states that the driver was not injured and is not facing charges.
