Accident causes two-hour shutdown on I-165 in Ohio County

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — An accident in Ohio County caused I-165 northbound to be shut down for a couple of hours Saturday morning.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office states at about 3 a.m., officials investigated a collision involving a semi and trailer. The driver stated a tire malfunction caused him to lose control and leave the left shoulder, traveling over to the median. It went through the median before the left side of the semi hit a guardrail before coming to rest.

Officials state the driver was not hurt and refused medical treatment and also state the collision caused moderate to severe damage.

Officials say I-165 northbound was shut down for two hours while towing and the State Highway Department worked to remove the semi and clean up debris.
