ALLENDALE COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – Video games and e-sports are transforming lives, turning hobbies into careers in competitive gaming, the military, and STEM fields.

The Blaze Fire Games Esports Bus stops nationwide at K-12 schools, colleges, and other educational institutions. And it made a stop in Allendale County Thursday. “So they play games on their phone and they have Xbox and all of these other gaming systems, so why not transfer that to the classroom,” Allendale County School District Superintendent Dr. Vallerie Cave said.

The bus transforms into a hub of learning and excitement, where gamers and creators come together to explore and compete. “There are also scholarships that can be earned for kids who have an aptitude for this. And even the AI has a place with kids who have aptitude for video gaming,” CEO of Fitch Group. LLC. Dr. Jerome Fitch added.

Students dive into games and simulations, experiencing true gamer mode. “I had fun like I play games and whatever, but it’s like I don’t have like all the equipment, like the system, the chair and all that. So it was very fun,” Allendale-Fairfax High senior Sequoia Eady said.

The bus offers an array of cutting-edge technology and educational opportunities, providing students with hands-on experience in cybersecurity, game design, broadcasting, and so much more. “They want gaming design. They want to be able to create web design. They wanna be able to do those things. So we’re opening up an eSports program next year, Dr. Cave added.

“I actually never been on a gaming bus, so it was actually fun and we don’t get like to go out and like do things like this, so it was different. It was fun,” Allendale-Fairfax High School junior Naomi Heyward said.
