Ware Mechanical Weather: Nearly 1,050 Customers Without Power This Morning

The heavy rain and storms stayed mostly to our south overnight.

Nearly half-an-inch of rain fell just before sunrise Thursday and more is expect.

Gusts of 33 mph were recorded at the airport late Wednesday and a wind advisory is in effect now through 8 tonight. Look for southeast winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

Those gusts likely are part of the reason nearly 1,100 area power customers were without service as of 4:45 a.m. Polk County, especially from the Floyd/Polk line to Aragon, was the hardest hit. Repairs there could take until 5:15 p.m.
