BLOUNTSTOWN, Fla. ( WMBB ) – For the 23rd year, the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement is inviting the public to travel back in time with them for their annual “Folk Life Days” on Friday, April 12th, and Saturday, April 13th.

Friday is tailored towards students, specifically those in private schools or home-schooled, while Saturday is open to the entire community.

There will be live artisan demonstrations that include blacksmithing, butter churning, wood carving and so much more.

The “Folk Life Days” allow guests to disconnect from the outside world and experience what life was like for those living two centuries ago.

“It’s outside. Get away from the screens, get away from the phones, get away from the TVs,” said Patti Stephens from the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement. “Immerse yourself in fresh air and sunshine and just experience what life was like back then.”

Tickets to the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement “Folk Life Days” cost $4 for students and $8 for adults.

Along with all the demonstrations, there will be hands-on activities, plenty of animals to see and interact with, and even hayrides.

On both days the fun will last from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
