Several people injured in St. Charles County car crashes

ST. CHARLES — The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating two accidents that occurred in St. Charles County. In one incident, a car struck a pedestrian; in the other, two motorcycles and a semi-truck collided, causing multiple injuries.

In the first incident, a 40-year-old Florissant man jumped off a retaining wall and onto the I-70 west off-ramp at Fifth Street. The victim was rushed to the hospital with serious leg injuries. According to the crash report, the driver of a Nissan Altima, a 34-year-old man, swerved in an attempt to avoid the pedestrian but ended up hitting him with the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The pedestrian’s injuries are described as moderate, and he was transported to a St. Louis hospital for treatment.

The second crash occurred on Highway 370 and 94 in St. Charles and involved four vehicles, including three motorcycles and a semi-truck. Police reports state that one of the motorcycles collided with the back of the semi and caught fire. Two people were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Both accidents took place around 8 p.m. last night. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
