German Shepherds are some of the smartest dogs in the world. They're fearless, and they can do anything, from herding to sniffing out bombs. That's when they're on the clock, though. When it's time to come home, they turn into completely different dogs, and they're just as crazy as the rest of them.

On Saturday, March 23rd, one German Shepherd got into a battle of epic proportions with a Cheez-It and a glass table. Honestly, it's kind of hard to tell who won:

I hope @billyd3152 let his smart boy have that Cheez-It afterwards. He's definitely earned it!

This dog is just a baby, and he has yet to figure out that glass tables will indeed make it impossible to get to your favorite snacks. He still keeps trying, though we never get to know if he got the Cheez-It afterwards or not. I certainly hope so, and so does the official Cheez-It TikTok account which commented, "Never give up. Never back down." Hopefully they were able to send him some treats!

Since he's just a baby, this sweet boy has probably not had a lot of experience with glass doors or tables. It's a common thing with puppies and rescues: the first few times, they might bonk into a glass door or battle with the table. Dogs have great eyesight and can usually see the reflection or dirt on a glass surface, but only if they know it's something to look out for. That, unfortunately, takes a few lessons to learn.

Can Dogs Even Eat Cheez-Its?

He's working his tail off to get to that cracker, and you best believe he wanted to eat it! Puppies in particular will eat literally anything you put in front of them - except their actual food , of course. This little guy is no exception!

In the grand scheme of human foods people give to their dogs, Cheez-Its are actually on the better end of the spectrum. They're baked, rather than fried in oil, and plain Cheez-Its don't contain any spicy seasoning. They're a little bit salty and should still be given sparingly, but a plain Cheez-It or two won't do any harm to your dog. You should avoid the specialty flavored ones, though: they often contain spice, garlic powder, and even more salt than normal.

If you have some extra time on your hands, you can also make homemade cheesy treats for your dog: you'll just follow a normal dog biscuit recipe and add a little bit of shredded cheese. They're easy to make and do actually save some money - as long as your dog can eat them and isn't just fighting them from under the table...
