There are many reasons dogs should receive adequate amounts of exercise daily. Maintaining ideal levels of muscle mass can help prevent obesity and the diseases associated with it. It can also help avoid unwanted destructive behaviors.

That’s why many pet parents have opted for a treadmill in their home. Although many animals enjoy running on them, one pair of Bull Terriers take exercise to a new level. They would be personal trainers or drill sergeants if they were humans!

Check out this video from March 24 to see their unmatched love of physical fitness.

This is too cute! It’s hard to believe this family of dogs (@ bullterrierfamil ) enjoys running on the treadmill, takes turns, and keeps returning for more. I wish I possessed this much fitness motivation each day! Their hard work pays off because each dog is an ideal example of being physically fit.

The silly one who likes to carry a football in his mouth is also seen in other videos carrying 5-pound weights and brooms. He likes to up his intensity, apparently. However, the tiny Chihuahua with his little legs going a million miles a minute had me laughing out loud! What a great life for these dogs. These pups must sleep well at night after being very active during the day. That’s a win for everybody.

Training Your Dog to Use a Treadmill

The AKC reports using treadmills can be a great way to help dogs exercise indoors when the weather is inclement outside. For dogs that require more than just a walk or two a day, it can also be a great way to burn off excess energy. However, properly getting your dogs acclimated to the machine is essential for them to enjoy using it. They also advise us to keep the initial training brief. If the dog shows signs of unhappiness, it’s time to end the session.

  1. Teach them to stand on the machine by encouraging them with positive reinforcement and treats.
  2. Power on the machine, but keep it still. This can help familiarize them with the sounds it will make.
  3. Start slowly. Although they may become pros, eventually, it’s critical to go slow as they adapt to walking on the machine.

.These fitness pups inspired audience members. Viewer @KuppyNoi responded, “Anyone wanting to give up on exercise, encourage yourself daily with this clip. Thanks!!! Bravo!” They are sure motivating! Perhaps the key to enjoying exercise is finding friends to have fun doing it with.

The next time I don’t feel like exercising, I will replay this video to find some fitness inspiration. Their love and physical activity are undoubtedly contagious.
