Teen charged with shooting juvenile in Lancaster County

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Police in Lancaster County say a teenager was the gunman in a shooting where a young man was injured earlier this month.

William Martin, 16, was arrested Tuesday and is being charged as an adult for the shooting at the 200 block of W. Grant Street on March 19, Lancaster City Bureau of Police said in a news release.

Police said that a male juvenile was shot after 5 p.m. and was transported to the hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.

According to online court documents, Martin faces numerous charges that include felony counts of aggravated assault, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure and carrying a firearm without a license. He also faces misdemeanor counts of possession of a firearm by a minor and recklessly endangering another person.

Martin is currently locked up at Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center with bail denied with court documents stating “no condition or combinations of conditions other than imprisonment can guarantee safety.”
