Three taken to hospital after fire in Somerset County

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Three people, including two police officers, had to be taken to the hospital following a house fire in Somerset County.

According to the Somerset County Department of Emergency Services, crews were called to a home on the 400 Block of Clark Street in Somerset Borough around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26.

Three people were taken from the scene to UPMC Somerset.

Two of them were police officers from the Somerset Borough Police Department and had to be treated for smoke inhalation. Emergency officials did say that the officer’s injuries were minor, but were unable to give any update on the third person.

Details about the fire are still limited, but a Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall is investigating.

The Somerset, Listie, Friedens, Sipesville, Rockwood, Berlin and Myersdale fire departments responded along with the Somerset and Berlin EMS.
