(Guthrie Co) Officials with the 25 Corridor Housing Initiative (CHI) spoke with the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors Tuesday morning about their housing improvement program.

Peggy Hoyt, Peoples Bank Branch Manager in Scranton, said they were specifically seeking a verbal commitment from the Supervisors to help fund the Guthrie County communities of Bagley and Bayard who are a part of the 25 CHI initiative.

Hoyt said with that, they want to increase the property values and the overall general attractiveness in the communities which would perhaps foster improvement in business and building as they move through this housing initiative.

She said the great thing about this housing initiative is that it’s not based on age or income, and this is a really simple program.

Hoyt noted that the application deadline has been extended from April 1st to May 1st.

A link to the application and more information can be found on the 25 Corridor Housing Initiative Facebook page.

Hoyt asked the Supervisors that if they are interested in helping out to make a verbal commitment by May 1st.
