Tangipahoa Parish crash leaves bicyclist dead

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. ( WGNO ) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating a crash that left a bicyclist dead in Tangipahoa Parish on Monday, March 25.

The LSP reported the crash happened on Louisiana Highway 40 near Brennon Lane around 6:45 a.m.

LSP officials said an investigation shows that 59-year-old Clayton Ard was riding a bike south on Louisiana Highway 40 at the same time as a Hyundai.

The Hyundai then reportedly hit the bicycle.

Ard suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai was uninjured.

LSP officials said the investigation is ongoing.
