WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) — Poole Community Fire and Rescue was one of the agencies that responded to a deadly crash in Webster County on Saturday.

On Sunday, the department held a debrief to talk about the efforts of first responders.

Officials said one reason for the debrief was for the mental health of the first responders and the families involved.

The department reviewed its response, what was done on the scene and the emotional impact of what happened.

“Just know that, you know, with everything going on, even if you didn’t feel like you were a major part, everything is a major part when it comes to conducting one of these complex scenes,” said Chief Brian Reynolds. “I did want to mention that the outcome was not what we had hoped, but we gave them a chance. And that’s all you can ever ask for.”

He said witnesses also helped at the scene.
