Walmart theft: Surveillance footage leads to multiple arrests

Kelly Township, Pa. — Three individuals were arrested after surveillance footage allegedly showed them removing items from a Walmart in Union County without paying.

Trooper Joseph Yedlosky of the Pennsylvania State Police was contacted about an alleged theft that occurred at Walmart in Kelly Township, charges say.

The store's loss prevention officer told police the theft involved three individuals, according to the affidavit. The suspects, identified as Cedric Edwards, 54, Stephen Durham, 52, and Sophia Maddox, 45, were allegedly seen on surveillance removing items from the store without paying.

According to Yedlosky, the surveillance footage showed the suspects taking a variety of items, including several Shark vacuums, Ninja Food Air Fryers, Sterilite totes, laundry products, food items, and an Allswell mattress, totaling $1,350.

Maddox, Edwards, and Durham have each been charged with two felony county of retail theft and conspiracy to commit retail theft, as well as misdemeanor receiving stolen property.
