Leah Smith, Tik-Tok Influencer, Dead at 22

Leah Smith , a TikTok influencer who had been battling stage 4 bone cancer, has sadly died. She was 22 years old.

The internet personality documented her cancer journey to over half a million followers on social media after being diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a type of cancer that occurs primarily in the bone or soft tissue. It can also metastasize to other areas of the body, according to John Hopkins Medicine .

Smith's boyfriend Andrew confirmed her tragic death in a video posted to her TikTok account on Monday, March 11, telling Smith's fans, "I’m sad to say that she passed away today around half-eleven this morning."

“I just want to say thank you to everyone. All your comments did help, like, she did actually read all of them. Anyone who said anything nice ever, it means more than you realize," he added.

Smith had previously given her fans an update on her cancer journey in early February, when she was admitted to the hospital again after experiencing severe pain. After undergoing testing, Smith shared her results, revealing that the cancer had spread and her tumors had grown.

"Doctors said just worry about the pain for now but this feels like the beginning of the end knowing [the cancer] will likely never go," she wrote in the Feb. 8 post .

As Smith's condition continued to worsen, her family and friends, namely her best friend Vikki, posted videos on Smith's behalf to keep her followers in the loop.

Earlier this week, Vikki uploaded a video to share that her friend was receiving end of life care, and that Smith was very "peaceful" during her last days.

"Out of all that pain and suffering now le, this isn't a goodbye just a goodnight, rest peacefully in that beautiful sunflower fiend and I'll see you again one day, my gorgeous best friend," Vikki wrote in another post shared to Smith's account after Andrew announced the news of her death.
