Doctor shares crucial information on 'mystery respiratory virus' going around

A doctor has shared some crucial information with regard to the ' mystery respiratory virus ' that is seemingly going around across the US.

Doctor Eric, a popular medical expert on social media site TikTok , was responding to a video where a woman told a story about a hospital in Florida being overrun with patients suffering with flu-like symptoms .

Claims were being made that emergency rooms were overcrowded with people suffering with respiratory issues, and while Doctor Eric confirmed these claims, he debunked the idea of a mystery virus.

He said : "There is no 'mystery respiratory virus' going around making people sick. We are just in the middle of a very bad respiratory virus season.

"I work in a hospital and admit patients from the emergency room, and yes, they are very crowded right now. But it's not because of a mystery virus.

"Just because you're sick and you test negative for Covid and the flu does not mean you have a mystery illness. It just means that you have another respiratory virus. There are dozens and dozens of other ones."

He said that this time of year is always worse for these types of illnesses, and that things should begin to improve as the weather does so.
