Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine recovering from injury

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine suffered an injury this past week and will wear a boot for the next two to three weeks.

DeWine said Sunday night that he has a displaced distal fibula fracture just above his ankle.

DeWine injured himself on Tuesday walking down the stairs at the First Church of Christ in East Palestine where the state had opened a clinic for the people who live in the area of the Feb. 3 train derailment.

"My foot caught on something," DeWine said Sunday night.

DeWine said the injury will not impact his ability to do his job.

"I'm fine," DeWine said. "I just not walking my dog as much."

Hours expanded for the East Palestine clinic

The hours for the Ohio Department of Health’s Health Assessment Clinic in East Palestine this week are:Monday-Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.Wednesday-Thursday: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Health Assessment Clinic is located at the First Church of Christ, 20 West Martin St. The numbers to call to make appointments are (234) 564-7755 or (234) 564-7888.
