Get Fit and Make Friends with Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition Bicycle-Centric Happenings This February

Published on Feb 5, 2023

If you’re looking for a fun and active way to get some exercise and make new friends in February, look no further than the Pasadena Complete Streets Coalition (PCSC). Whether you’re a seasoned veteran bicyclist or a newcomer, PCSC has plenty of exciting events and activities to keep you entertained and fit this month.

The PCSC is made up of “volunteers dedicated to promoting Complete Streets projects and policies in Pasadena, California. Our belief that everyone should be able to live and move safely in our city inspires us to work for cleaner, healthier, sustainable, and more inclusive transportation and planning solutions.”

“We’ve loaded February with celebratory events and advocacy opportunities for a safer, more accessible, and more equitable Pasadena,” the group said in an email. “We hope the city of Pasadena will join us in the pursuit of equity, by adopting an all ages and all-abilities standard when designing Pasadena’s bike network.”

First up is the PCSC General Meeting, taking place on Monday, February 6th at 7 p.m. over Zoom. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about PCSC’s past events and future plans, and even get involved in helping to plan future walks and bike rides.

For those who love to ride their bikes and enjoy treats, the Tour de Donut is the perfect event for you. Taking place on Saturday, February 11th from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., this approximately 12-mile bike ride will take participants on a loop around Pasadena and stop at three local donut shops for complimentary samples. The ride begins at Pasadena Memorial Park (85 E Holly St, Pasadena 91103) and is suitable for all skill levels, with a gentle climb at the start.

The month also includes a scavenger hunt at the new Playhouse Village Park on Sunday, February 5th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join in the fun and see what you can find!

Finally, on Sunday, February 25th, PCSC said it will proudly host a Black History Month walk with NAACP Pasadena Branch President Allen Edson. The walk will explore different historical sites in the Pasadena area and promises to be a fascinating and educational experience for all participants.
