Acer Swift Go 14 and Swift Go 16 previewed as lightweight laptops with 16:10 OLED and high refresh rate displays
Samsung may have turned heads with the 16:10 OLED displays in the Galaxy Book3 Pro and Galaxy Book3 Ultra. However, Acer has also introduced the Swift Go 14 and Swift Go 16 with comparable displays, albeit without a touchscreen layer. For reference, while the Swift Go series is available with a touchscreen display, this variant utilises IPS technology, not OLED.
By default, the Swift Go 14 and Swift Go 16 contain 16:10 OLED panels that operate at 2,880 x 1,800 pixels and 3,200 x 2,000 pixels, respectively. Additionally, both machines are configurable with either AMD Ryzen 7000 or Intel Raptor Lake processors. For some reason, AMD variants receive 90 Hz panels, whereas Intel variants ship with 120 Hz alternatives. Regardless, all OLED panel options cover the DCI-P3 colour space and offer VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500 certification for at least 500 nits peak brightness.
Moreover, all variants have 1440p webcams, unlike many laptops. Currently, Acer has not confirmed which AMD Ryzen 7000 APUs will power the Swift Go series. Intel Raptor Lake series processors with 15 W or 45 W TDPs will be headed to the Swift Go series though, so we imagine that comparable AMD Ryzen 7000 APUs will be available.
Unsurprisingly, Swift Go 14 is lighter than its 16-inch counterpart, although only by 350 g at 1.25 kg vs 1.6 kg. The pair are just under 15 mm thick too. The Swift Go 14 will launch later this month with Intel Raptor Lake processors from €1,099; AMD Ryzen 7000 options will not debut until June but will start at €999. Acer has not confirmed Swift Go 16 pricing yet, despite the machine being poised for launch in March.
