A MAINE NURSE IS GETTING SOME EXTRA APPRECIATION TODAY -- AFTER SHE WENT THE EXTRA MILE FOR ONE OF HER PATIENTS -- BY ADOPTING HIS PET! WHEN BILL CAME TO WINSHIP GREEN - A SKILLED NURSING FACILITY IN BATH...HE SAID ONE OF THE BIGGEST THINGS HE MISSED FROM HIS HOME WAS HIS CAT POLLY. WANTING TO HELP EASE HIS TRANSITION -- ONE OF THE NURSES, APRIL...DECIDED TO SURPRISE BILL BY BRINGING POLLY TO WORK. A nurse at a skilled nursing facility in Bath is going the extra mile to help one of the facility residents feel at home.When Bill Dodge moved to Winship Green Center for Health & Rehabilitation he had to give up his cat, Polly, and said he missed her very much. A nurse, April Tomaselli, decided to adopt Polly and then brought her to work so that Bill could see and interact with her. "It's wonderful it really is, I really enjoy it," said Dodge.That has helped Bill make the transition to his new living environment and he is able to get frequent visits."My heart explodes," said Tomaselli. "The first time, I knew it was the right to do. I think it makes a huge difference in the overall well-being"
