Middlebury Welcomes Back Kate Johnson ’09 As Assistant Nordic Coach

Middlebury has announced the rehiring of Kate Johnson '09 as the assistant Nordic ski coach. Johnson previously served in the same capacity with the Panthers from 2016-2020, before accepting a coaching position with the United States Cross Country Teams during the Olympic cycle.

"We are thrilled to welcome Kate back to the program," said head coach Andrew Johnson. "Her time as a two-sport student-athlete at Middlebury provides valued perspective and experience for our current athletes. Her past roles as a junior coach, a former Middlebury coach, and a U.S. Ski Team and Olympic coach brings a unique and broad set of skills and knowledge to our team. Most importantly, though, Kate's unbound enthusiasm for all things skiing and ski racing are an asset to any group she works with and we're lucky to have her back."

"I've always loved Middlebury, Middlebury skiing and working with young developing athletes. I am feeling very grateful for the opportunity to return to this community in a coaching role," said Kate Johnson. "Being a part of, and building, any team is a uniquely rewarding process and I can't wait to support our current group of student-athletes through this process."
