    Candy & Cookies Contaminated with Salmonella Distributed In North Carolina

    The FDA is warning North Carolina residents about potentially dangerous candy and cookies distributed in the state.

    Four different types of treats suspected to be tainted with Salmonella were sold at Virginia Supermarkets.

    These products may be contaminated with Salmonella. The bacteria causes nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and cramps and can be extremely dangerous to children, the elderly, and those with compromised health.

    Body Found at North Carolina Dollar General

    According to the FDA, the products were manufactured by West Virginia candy company Deskins using potentially contaminated Jiff Peanut Butter. They were distributed by North Carolina Company Merchants Distributor Inc.

    Affected products are 16-ounce containers of:

    Peanut butter Fudge      UPC  7 33980 12311 7          expiration date 6/26

    Peanut butter No Bakes  UPC   7 33980 12331 7        expiration date 6/21

    Peanut butter Pinwheel   UPC   7 33980 12314 7         expiration date 6/16

    Chocolate No Bakes        UPC  7 33980 12334 7         expiration date 6/26

    The products were packaged in 16 oz clear plastic clamshells and sold at regional supermarkets.
