Jury selection begins Monday in the murder trial of Thomas Bonfanti, who was 63 years old at the time of the shooting he's accused of. He is the Northfield man accused of going on a shooting spree back in February 2020, killing three people and injuring a fourth.
Police say there were shootings in both Machias and Jonesboro.
Bonfanti is charged with the murder of Shawn Curry, Samuel Powers and Jennifer Bryant-Flynn along with aggravated attempted murder in the shooting of Regina Long (Hall). Long spent three weeks in the hospital.
Prosecutors have not commented on a possible motive in the case, only that he did know each of the victims.
Bonfanti's lawyer says the trial is expected to last two weeks.
The trial was moved from Washington County to Waldo County due to the extensive media coverage of the case.
