BLUFFTON, S.C. - For the second straight year, senior infielder Kyran Russ was named to CoSIDA (College of Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District for his performance on the field and in the classroom. 

Russ, a three-year starter at USCB, garnered the prestigious honor, as he toted an unblemished, cumulative 4.00 grade-point average. He graduated with a business administration degree from USCB, and Russ was also named to the Sun Conference's All-Academic team for the second consecutive year. 

On the field, Russ was a .357 hitter, as he played in 48 of the 50 games this year. He has a team-best 1.143 OPS, 46 RBIs, 27 walks and .486 on-base percentage. The Sand Shark graduate finished the campaign with 36 runs scored, 51 hits, 14 doubles, one triple and nine home runs. 

Russ finished the 2022 season with 13 multi-hit games, including three with three hits. He led the USCB team with multi-RBI games, where he had 13 - eight 2-RBI games, four 3-RBI games and one 5-plus RBI games. His best game came against Brewton-Parker in Mount Vernon, where Russ collected three hits (two homers, one was a grand slam) en route to plating six RBIs. 

Of the 12-man NAIA District 1 squad, Russ was one of three players that had perfect 4.00 GPAs - Nick Olsen of Lawrence Tech and Christopher Schoeller of St. Thomas. On that same team, there were four other Sun Conference players on the squad - Thomas Broyles of Southeastern, Schoeller, Tim Bouchard of Keiser and Zach Mazur of Keiser.
