Tenants Evacuate Apartment Building Fire in Van Nuys

Van Nuys, Los Angeles: Tenants evacuated an apartment building fire early Saturday morning in Van Nuys on the 14400 block Valerio Street.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters extinguished the fire at a three story apartment building that was reported at 12:23 a.m. Some tenants were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by LAFD.

Los Angeles Police Department officers blocked the road eastbound from Van Nuys on Valerio Street for LAFD personnel, and residents were asked to park away from the location while they completed their investigation.

Some residents were let back inside the building at 1:15 a.m. The cause of the fire is not known at this time or if any tenants were transported to a hospital.
