Marvel’s Moon Knight vs DC’s The Batman Will Be 2022’s First Big Clash

DC and Marvel may have originally started off as comic book powerhouses. But in recent years, they have had a foothold in other facets of the entertainment industry, including the world of movies and TV shows.

As both universes churn out more projects involving their biggest IPs, there’s bound to be competition between them, and in recent years, these two goliaths have faced each other at the box office multiple times.

However, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) now moving to the world of TV shows with Disney+, the competition between the comic book publishers span different entertainment worlds, and fans won’t have to wait long to see their first major clash in 2021.

For the longest of time, it seemed like March will be the month of comic book movies with the release of DC’s The Batman and Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

However, following the recent delay to the Doctor Strange sequel, it seemed like Robert Pattinson’s Batman will be the undisputed king of comic book entertainment for at least a month.

But, Marvel Studios has other plans as they recently revealed the trailer for the new Disney+ show Moon Knight featuring Oscar Isaac as the titular character. The show will release at the end of March, and it sets up a showdown against Bruce Wayne and Co. as The Batman arrives at the start of the month.

In the world of comics, many fans would agree in saying that Moon Knight is the Marvel’s version of Batman and vice versa. The two characters have quite the similarity, with many of their stories revolving around their troubled past and thoughts.

The Moon Knight TV show and The Batman movie will delve a lot into these characters’ psyche, as they try to protect their cities, despite their struggles against mental issues and family problems.

Other than that, both the movie and the TV show will have a dark tone as seen on the trailers, and fans can’t wait to see how these two characters will fare against antagonists like Paul Dano’s Riddler and Ethan Hawke’s Arthur Harrow, respectively.

Fans can expect to see more details about The Batman and Moon Knight in the coming days with new trailers and posters, and they are quite excited to see who will come out on top.
