Vehicle Leaves Trail of Crashed Cars on Freeway

Boyle Heights: A suspect traveling on the Eastbound I-10 Freeway crashed into multiple vehicles at different locations along the way, then stopped at East Olympic Boulevard and Calzona Street where the suspect's vehicle burst into flames in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The suspect then fled on foot from that location. Los Angeles Fire Department resources responded to the scene and extinguished the burning vehicle in approximately five minutes.

The first collision occurred at around 10:35 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 17, in the area of the 10 Freeway and Alameda involving the suspect vehicle and a gray pickup truck. The suspect then proceeded to crash into other vehicles at multiple locations along the freeway, according to California Highway Patrol logs.

CHP is investigating this incident. No further details are currently available.
