    North Carolina Woman Shot Dead During Argument By Man Previously Convicted of Murder

    A woman was found shot dead in her home in Williamston, North Carolina.

    According to the authorities, the suspect already has a violent criminal history

    Police responded to reports of shots being fired being in a community in Williamston. Upon their arrival, officers found Brenda Wilson's dead body as well as evidence she had been shot to death.

    Officers also found James Earl Best, 79, at the home. After speaking to Best, they and learned he and Wilson got into an argument, which led to him shooting her. The police have called it a domestic dispute and the Wilson and Best lived together, although they did not disclose the relationship between them.

    Best was swiftly taken into custody, where he was charged with an open count of murder. He was in jail under no bond. However, this is not the first time Best has faced a murder charge.

    According to WCTI, documents from the Department of Corrections show that Best was convicted of murder years ago. Best was sentenced to 30 years in prison in 1974. he served just 14 years. Best was also convicted of second-degree murder in Beaufort County in 1974 but was released in 1988.
