Colts Worked Out Four Kickers; Hosted a Free Agent Cornerback on Monday

According to NFL Insider Aaron Wilson, the Indianapolis Colts worked out four kickers on Monday, as well as hosted a free agent cornerback:

Perhaps, the Colts are just churning out the kicker position and performing their due diligence (*just in case further injuries arise).

After all, in relief of injured Rodrigo ‘Hot Rod’ Blankenship, freshly promoted placekicker Michael Badgley successfully hit a 41 yard field goal yesterday and all four of his extra point attempts in a Colts’ blowout victory.

Among the kickers brought in over the past week or so, Badgley remains the biggest and most proven name for the Colts.

Meanwhile, Toliver is a former undrafted free agent cornerback from LSU who has played with both the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos organizations.

At 6’2”, 199 pounds (with 30 1/8” arms), the 25 year old defensive back has 32 tackles (27 solo) and 4 passes defensed during 29 career games (2 starts).

The Colts remain banged up at cornerback, as starter Rock Ya-Sin re-injured his ankle during Sunday’s game, while dependable backup T.J. Carrie remains out with injury.

It’s also a fair question of whether veteran Xavier Rhodes is 100% healthy, as he has struggled compared to his standout debut Colts campaign in 2020—and was just recently coming off a concussion (and an earlier season calf injury).

So far, none of these names have been signed yet, but that could certainly change.
